Week 8 - Fitt's Law

The Nielsen Norman Group, define Fitt’s Law as “Fitts’s law gives us the relationship between the time it takes a pointer to move to a particular target in order to interact with it in some way” (2022). Essentially how users interact with UX and how to design to make it as efficient as possible.

The way that UX is designed focuses on how the user holds their device. the majority operate from their dominant hand’s thumb meaning that there is a limited area of reach around the screen. thus Fitt’s Law suggests that to maximise the efficiency of an app’s UX, all essential buttons should be located within this reach.
